Events like Curl for Mental Health help increase public awareness, and reduce the stigma associated with mental illness, while raising funds for our much needed community programs and services. We need your help in sending a message to the public about the importance of mental health, through this day of entertainment and fun!
Mental health and physical health are fundamentally linked – regular physical activity improves psychological well-being and can reduce depression and anxiety. CMHA is the only association in Canada that addresses all aspects of mental health and mental illness. Mental illness has a major impact on our society. Mental illness costs the Canadian economy a staggering $51-billion a year, and 1 in 5 Canadians will personally experience a mental illness in their lifetime.
